Emergency crews called to Bruce Highway crash at Bowen

Motorists travelling around Bowen may face traffic delays after a highway crash between a 4WD towing a caravan and another vehicle.

All emergency crews were called to the scene and it is understood paramedics did treat and transport to hospital.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said one lane of the Bruce Highway was impacted and officers were directing traffic as a result of the two-vehicle crash at 10.09am.

The collision occurred where the highway meets Don St heading into Bowen township.

All emergency crews were called to the scene and two patents were taken to Bowen Hospital in a stable condition.

It is understood there did not appear to be any major injuries.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said one crew was on the scene and there were no entrapments as a result of the crash.

The QPS spokesman said a 4WD towing a caravan had pulled off to the side of the road and another vehicle was still at the intersection blocking one lane.

A tow truck is also on the scene.

This comes days after a cyclist was struck and left to die on the roadside along Bootooloo Rd at Bowen.

The incident occurred about 4.40am Thursday.

A 69-year-old Bowen man, who had been riding his bicycle, was struck and died at the scene.

Police investigations are continuing and officers are calling for anyone with information, witnesses or footage, to come forward.
