The Southern Downs is a booming hub for entrepreneurship, as each year passes more businesses, franchises and new entertainment options open up for residents.

From bars and cafes, to entrenched businesses expanding into new ventures, or longstanding icons of the region looking for a new home, there’s a plethora of opportunities in the Downs.

These are some of the established businesses in our region looking for new owners.

Belle Vue Cafe – $189,000

At more than 100 years old, the historic Belle Vue Cafe is the oldest on this list, stretching its roots back to the early 20th century.

Owned by husband and wife duo Rosie and Mark Favero for the past decade, the cafe boasts a loyal customer base which quickly became like family to the owners.

“We’ve got plenty of regulars and we like knowing people by name and getting close with them, as well as our staff. There’s been ups and downs and challenges over 12 years, but a lot of good memories,” Mr Favero said.

Located on Palmerin St at Warwick, the central location is a fantastic factor for the business, and owners will help with a smooth transition to ensure it’s regulars are satisfied.

The owners have decided to focus on their other business, passion project Pickle and Must Delicatessen just up the road.

Located in one of the Rose City’s most iconic buildings at Victoria St, Burrito Bar Warwick and its iconic dome is definitely standout.

First announced at the tail end of 2022, the Mexican eatery is looking for a new owner to take over its notable space – previously occupied by cult favourite Cafe Jacqui’s for almost two decades prior.

The site is one of the most prominent commercial sites in Warwick, and is still affectionately dubbed “the Dome Deli” by longtime residents.

Listed by local real estate firm Auz Realty, the business is dubbed as a “fantastic opportunity” due to the business benefiting from being surrounded by a vibrant community and a bustling commercial hub with ample traffic.

“I have been fortunate to grow with the Burrito Bar network for over a year and am excited to take the next big step in opening a Burrito Bar in Warwick,” Burrito Bar franchise Vijay Namburi said in 2023.

It is unclear if Burrito Bar will stay as the tenant for the building, with the listing stating that “the sky is the limit in this city”.

The creators of award-winning and preservative-free wines, liqueurs, spirits and beer, all from a quirky castle-themed exterior have made their mark on the region and the wider state.

CRE Brokers Peter Sagner said the boutique distillery and vineyard has been on the market for almost 18-months.

“I’ve shown quite a number of people through the property, it’s a really unique distillation project,” he said.

The business’ growth, wide product range and prestige listing price has meant its appeal is targeted to a narrow market, Mr Sagner said.

“The reality is (the buyer) is set up to do anything and everything out there,” he said.

The business is dubbed “the premier tourist destination” in the region and boasts expanded sites in the form of cellar doors across the Gold Coast hinterland and Sunshine Coast hinterland.

Stockyard Tavern Warwick - $675k ONO

The Stockyard Tavern has long been a Rose City institution, located on the east side of town.
