The sister of a 54-year-old baker who died in a horror fire with his 10-year-old daughter has spoken at their funeral saying how her brother had a “heart bigger than a Trojan horse”.

Todd and Kirra Mooney were found dead on December 20 at their property at Fenwicks Road, Biggenden.

The funeral was held at Bundaberg Bible Chapel on Friday where Mr Mooney’s sister, Lisa-Marree Mooney, spoke.

“He’s going to be so missed. He’s so loved,” Ms Mooney said.

“It’s very very sad, very tragic.”

She described her brother as someone who was so loved.

“(He) was an amazing man, he was a good worker, he was a good father, he was a good provider and he was a good partner,” she said.

“He was loyal to his family and friends and he had a heart bigger than a Trojan horse.”

A speech was also read aloud on behalf of Kirra’s best friend Kiara.

“You always gave me a smile on my face when I saw you,” she said.

“I could never replace a friend like you, you were the joy to my life.

“Kirra you reminded me of a rainbow, now next time I see one you will be there.

“I will never forget all the fun things we did together.”

The little girl’s speech said Kirra would never be forgotten.

“Thank you for making me happy when I was sad, when I’m sad I will know you’ll be right beside me,” she said.

“I will never forget all the sleepovers we had and all the other things we did. All I will ever think of is you.”

“When I’m sad I know you will bring me joy by thinking of you.”

The fire was first thought to be the result of a tragic accident but police have since alleged forensic examinations revealed the December 20 fire had been deliberately lit.

Maryborough’s Kristen Leslie Olsen, 24, was charged with two counts of murder and one count of arson over the deaths.
