Woman charged over Marcus Beach motorbike hit and run on David Low Way

Police have charged a woman over a hit and run near Noosa where she allegedly struck a man on a Harley Davidson and left him with serious injuries.

Charges have been laid after a driver allegedly struck a motorbike in Marcus Beach, leaving the rider hospitalised with serious injuries.

Emergency services rushed to David Low Way and Marcus Dunes Ct about 5am on Friday, November 25 to reports of a grey Honda CR-V crashing into a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

As a result of the crash, a 58-year-old Pinabarren man who was the rider, was thrown from his vehicle.

Critical care paramedics treated him for serious leg and hip injuries and was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

A 35-year-old Peregian Beach woman has since been charged with driving without due care and attention causing grievous bodily harm, driver fail to remain at incident and driving without a licence.

It will be alleged she was the driver who collided with the motorcycle and failed to remain at the scene of the crash.

She was believed to have travelled south along David Low Way.

The Honda was later found abandoned on Peregian Esplanade, near Avocet Pde and David Low Way.

The woman is expected to appear before Noosa Magistrates Court on January 10, 2023.

Investigators are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have CCTV or dashcam vision of the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
