When is it ok to criticise health choices?

Couldn't help but notice the hypocrisy when a very large (verging on obese) man told off a lady for smoking on the beach this morning, because it was "not healthy for her and other beach patrons."

He then went back to consuming a family-sized beer battered fish meal with a mountain of hot chips washed down with a large bottle of Coca Cola.

Why is it ok to tell off smokers for smoking, but not politically correct to talk about the poor food choices made by obviously unhealthy specimens?
