The Bruce Hwy has been reopened following a multi-car pile-up which brought two lanes to a halt on the Sunshine Coast.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said one crew was called to a crash on the Bruce Hwy at Rosemount about 1pm on Friday.

He said two lanes of the highway were closed.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said traffic was blocked from the Nambour exit onto the highway travelling southbound.

She said multiple cars were involved but no injuries were reported.

Another Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said police were no longer needed at the site of the crash and all lanes had reopened.
