School holiday traffic is backed up on the Sunshine Coast after a two-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway.

Emergency services responded to a two-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway northbound at North Arm, at 10.40am.

According to the Queensland Ambulance Service, eight people were assessed at the scene, with two taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in stable conditions.

Six people at the scene declined further treatment or transport.

The two-vehicle smash quickly caused traffic to build on the Bruce Highway from North Arm to Yandina.

It follows a busy night for emergency services on the Sunshine Coast, with two men rushed to hospital after a spray can explosion at Buderim, as well as an alleged hit and run at Noosaville.
