Teenager falls three metres at Sunshine Coast hinterland waterfall

A teenager has been rushed to hospital after falling from rocks at a popular swimming hole in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

A teenager has been rushed to hospital after she fell at a waterfall in the Sunshine Coast hinterland on Saturday.

According to Queensland Ambulance Services, the girl reportedly fell three metres off rocks at Gardeners Falls just before 1pm on Saturday.

A QAS spokeswoman said she received head, leg, and arm injuries and was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Shortly afterwards, emergency services rushed to Doonan, after a tree fell onto a vehicle at the intersection of Eumundi-Noosa Rd and Redwood Rd.

According to a QAS spokeswoman, the male driver of the vehicle was uninjured and declined to be taken to hospital.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency spokeswoman said crews removed the tree from the vehicle, which sustained significant damage at the rear, before it was towed from the scene.

The incidents follow a busy 24 hours for emergency services on the Coast, with two men also rushed to hospital following a freak explosion and an alleged hit and run.

According to the QAS, an aerosol can exploded and caught fire at a private address at Buderim.

A male in his 20s was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with burns to his arms and face at 7.44pm.

Less than an hour later at Noosaville, a man in his 20s was injured in an alleged hit and run involving a vehicle and a bicycle at the corner of Ely Street and Eumundi Noosa Road.

The collision resulted in a male in his 20s being taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with abrasions.

Both men were transported in stable conditions.

Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident at Noosaville where the driver allegedly left the scene.
