Tracey and Adrian named best host for their Private Lakeside Studio Airbnb

A Sunshine Coast couple said they are honoured and absolutely thrilled to be crowned best Airbnb hosts in the country after meticulously taking care of their studio for the past six years.

A Sunshine Coast couple are “thrilled” to have been crowned the best Airbnb hosts nationally after putting in tireless effort in maintaining their studio for the past six years.

Tracey and Adrian have been hosting their private lakeside studio airbnb in the Caloundra area since 2018 and have received the title Host of the Year by Airbnb at their annual Host Awards.

Their studio getaway offers a “cosy, coastal vibe” with complimentary kayaks, chocolate, biscuits, bottled water and “the basics”.

Tracey said they leave a personalised welcome message for each guest when they check in.

“We also provide them with complimentary use of our kayaks and safety vests so they can paddle straight down to the beach or go exploring the many canals through the lake.”

Tracey said it felt “absolutely amazing” when she received the news of their win - coincidentally on her birthday - and the couple felt honoured for their hard work to be recognised.

They strive to provide a clean, friendly and relaxing space, which has resulted in many guests returning to stay at the studio, Tracey said.

Her favourite part of her Airbnb gig is the opportunity to meet interesting people and the “thrill” of happy and returning guests.

“It’s one of the most rewarding things that I’ve done,” she said.

Many guests are also happy to stay inside the Airbnb during their holiday when bad weather cancels any plans of touring the Sunshine Coast.

Tracey advised other aspiring hosts that cleaning is key to make sure their space looks and feels like no one was there beforehand.

She said the studio is usually booked out back-to-back with guests occupying the space almost every day.

Outside of her Airbnb business, Tracey works part time at an IGA.

Her husband Adrian also helps out with the Airbnb but often attends to his own work schedule.

“He makes a cracking bed, I’ve taught him well,” she said.
