Staff at a popular Sunshine Coast store who were potentially exposed to Covid-19 have been forced to isolate after a person infected with the virus visited it briefly.

Forest Glen’s Kunara Organic Marketplace was able to remain open despite it being included on Queensland Health’s contact tracing list.

It comes after a person visited the store while infected for four minutes from 6.34-6.38pm on Monday, July 12.

The owners of the store took to social media to update their customers and the community.

“The community member infected was in store for a brief four-minute period, only stopping to purchase fruit and veg,” it read.

“All team members that were working at this time, have been sent for testing and are in isolation.

“We already have in place cleaning practices upon closing the store every night. On top of this we have organised a deep clean.

“The health and safety of our team and community is our greatest priority.

“If you were shopping in store during this time window on Monday, please follow the Queensland Health guidelines and get tested.”

The owners of the marketplace confirmed the store would remain open and sent well wishes to the customer and its team members.

Kunara Organic Marketplace owners were approached for comment.

It comes after a 12-year-old boy and his father tested positive to the virus after the boy returned from the United States on June 21.

The father works a financial advisory centre at Maroochydore and went to work while infectious on Wednesday.

Several exposure sites on the Sunshine Coast have been listed by Queensland Health.

Queensland has recorded one new case of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, acquired overseas and picked up in hotel quarantine.
