Staff have been forced to isolate and undergo testing after a Sunshine Coast bakery, pharmacy and newsagency were added to the list of Covid-19 exposure sites.

Fairfield testing mandate creates chaos as massive queues form overnight

Staff from Sunshine Coast hinterland bakery will undergo testing after coming into contact from a Covid-19 visitor on June 29.

The Kenilworth Country Bakery took to social media to explain Queensland Health had contacted the business late on Tuesday afternoon to advise they had been listed as a casual contact exposure site.

It comes as several Sunshine Coast locations were added to the list of Covid-19 exposure sites, with people being encouraged to get tested and isolate.

Queensland Health revealed late on Tuesday that a previously announced positive case has had their infectious period revised due to earlier identified symptoms.

A public health alert was issued for more contact tracing at seven locations in Kenilworth, Noosa, Eumundi and Sunshine Beach.

The team at Kenilworth Bakery wrote on their Facebook that they had been working closely with the authorities to ensure they were complying with their regulations.

“We are following all precautions and steps they have provided us, which will allow us, as a proud local small business, to keep the bakery open safely,” they wrote.

“This includes ensuring any staff member who may have had contact with the case has been tested and will not return to work until they have recorded a negative result.

“As a family-owned business, we will continue to support those affected staff members during this time.

“We have coordinated a new roster to ensure we can keep our doors open and continue to provide vital jobs.”
