New president Warren Flower was thrilled to see players return and said there was plenty of talk about the new field.
“The new field is fantastic and everyone is getting very good feedback from the players, so that’s really good,” Mr Flower said.
“We’ve just got to get our new lights installed which will hopefully arrive within the next month and then we are up to Olympic standard basically.”
The main turf field upgrade was completed in December, with Poligras Tokyo GT turf installed.
The field also boasts a new addition, with the association’s logo featuring on the turf for the first time at halfway.
While grass games were cancelled, senior sides were able to play on the turf.
Teams were quick to fire on return too, with Nambour’s women defeating Heat 4- 2 in Division 1.
Maroochydore’s Division 1 women also started the season with a win, defeating Flinders 2-1.
