Firefighters are on scene on the Sunshine Coast after a gas leak forced the evacuation of a building in a busy road near a private hospital and university.

A building along the same road as a private hospital and university has been evacuated due to a gas leak on the Sunshine Coast.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said three crews rushed to Innovation Parkway at Birtinya about 3.30pm on Tuesday after a gas leak was reported.
The spokesman said firefighters confirmed the existence of the leak with it now being isolated.
A commercial building along the road was evacuated as a precaution.
Paramedics are on standby, however, no patients have been reported, and police are on scene to help with traffic control.
Multiple businesses are situated along Innovation Parkway including a Sunshine Coast University building, the Kawana Private Hospital and multiple retail outlets.
Two car smash on Bruce Hwy causes delays – Tuesday
A two car crash on the Bruce Highway is causing delays as emergency services respond – with one lane reportedly closed.
Emergency services have been called to a two-car crash northbound on the Bruce Highway at the Steve Irwin Way off ramp, between Elimbah and Beerburrum.
The crash was called in at 1.50pm.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said police had closed one lane of the highway and were redirecting traffic.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said it was a minor crash and no one had been reported as injured yet.
A Queensland Police spokeswoman said police were on the scene but didn’t have any more information at the time.
