Mr Offermann said the agency was dealing with some well known international buyers, and the lift in interest from Americans has been noticeable.

"Most of our overseas buyers are coming from Europe and New Zealand, not China.

"We are getting a lot of expat buyers who are seeing this as a good time to repatriate their money back into lifestyle investments."

"We will soon be releasing details of a sale over $9 million nearby that also faces a demolition and rebuild.

"It will just get harder and more expensive to get into these front row locations.

"We have a handful of beachfront homes currently available which we think could disappear quite quickly."
