A German couple are “grateful” to have landed their milestone first listing after diving into the highly competitive real estate game on the Coast.

The pair first met in Sydney and moved to “the most beautiful place on earth” in Sunrise Beach near Noosa one-and-half years ago.

While Ms Dohm, who is a dual citizen, found some work at a cafe it was hard going for Mr Braeutigam.

He battled to find work as the COVID-19 pandemic took hold despite becoming licenced to sell property and completing his registration course with the Real Estate Institute of Queensland.

“My dad has his own real estate agency (in Stuttgart, Germany) which now belongs to the Colliers International group,” Mr Braeutigam said.

“So, I always wanted to continue working in real estate but there were no opportunities for me here in Noosa as well as on the Sunshine Coast.

“I tried really hard and at some stage we thought we’d just work together and start our own real estate agency, Oceanside Property.”

Both have a rich history in real estate with Mr Braeutigam involved in his father’s real estate business in the past and Ms Dohm having worked for Colliers International designing brochures and pitch documents for real estate projects.

Starting a real estate business on the Coast wasn’t easy, but through persistence the couple have landed their first listing.

It’s a retail shop front at the M1 building along Duporth Ave.

“We started it (Oceanside Property) four or five months ago and it’s obviously really hard to get a listing because the market is really competitive,” Mr Braeutigam said.

“But, now we’ve managed to get our first listing in Maroochydore in a prime location.

“We are really grateful and we are working really hard (to lease it).

“It’s just an amazing time at the moment.

“I also have a lot of things in the pipeline and a lot of potential things coming up.”

The couple' major goal is to break into the residential market.

With Ms Dohm having graphic design and photography skills, the couple do all their own marketing and promotion.

“We are very proud of how far we have come and are working really hard to make our dream come true - to have our own business in the most beautiful place on earth,” Ms Dohm said.
