It is understood six members met at the clubhouse on Saturday morning, during the eight-day southeast Queensland lockdown, and went for a paddle on their skis at Noosa Main Beach.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said they were aware and investigating the incident.

No fines or charges have been issued.

Noosa Heads Surf Life Saving Club president Ross Fisher said club members were made aware of the lockdown restrictions and all training sessions were cancelled.

He said individual members were able to collect their skis from the clubhouse to use for exercise during lockdown.

“Authorised training sessions were cancelled during lockdown and for the next two weeks, but members can come and go if they wish to go for a paddle, as long as they go within the Covid-19 rules,” Mr Fisher said.

“We have a number of members who are husband and wife who go down together.

“It’s unfortunate if someone has interpreted that wrongly.”

Police officers issued thousands of dollars worth of fines throughout the lockdown and made several arrests.

A man and a woman were arrested at Noosa Civic shopping centre on Friday after they allegedly refused to use the check-in app or wear masks.

During the eight-day lockdown exercise was allowed within 10km of residents’ homes.

Residents were allowed to exercise with one person outside their household.

The police spokesman said police would continue to use “communication and compassion” to achieve compliance during ongoing restrictions.
