Police have stopped the search for a woman missing in the Noosa region, as they released her photo for the first time.
It comes after the Sunshine Coast-based rescue helicopter joined a search effort to find the missing elderly woman on Thursday morning, January 4.
The chopper searched dunes and the ocean at a Noosa beach for about an hour, but was unable to find the woman.
On Monday police suspended the search for 73-year-old Evonne Bond, who was reported missing from Tewantin on Friday, December 15.
An extensive search and rescue operation began on December 27 after the missing woman’s vehicle, a white 2018 Hyundai Kona, was located by a member of the public at Sunrise Beach in Noosa.
The search continued on and off for several weeks, involving police, SES and Lifeflight, however nothing of interest was located.
Police have liaised closely with Evonne Bond’s family during this time.
While the physical search has been suspended, police continue to appeal to anyone with information that may assist in locating Evonne to come forward.
Ms Bond has not been found.
