Teen boy now stable after Peregian Beach e-scooter crash

A Sunshine Coast hospital has provided an update on the status of a young teenage boy, who was left in a critical condition after a horror e-scooter crash in Peregian Beach.

A teenage boy who was left in a critical condition after he came off his e-scooter in Peregian Beach on on Tuesday morning is now stable, it has been confirmed.

Paramedics were called to the scene on Peregian Esplanade at 7.27am on Tuesday, March 7, where the boy had suffered a significant head injury.

A rescue helicopter and intensive care paramedics were called to the scene also.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the rider, in his early teens, had come off his scooter and there were no other vehicles involved.

He was rushed to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a critical condition, though it was not confirmed if this was by road or by rescue helicopter.

A Queensland Health spokeswoman said the boy remains at the hospital in a critical condition.
