A prominent Sunshine Coast charity founder who allegedly had a stash of steroids must decide if he will fight a criminal charge.

Matthew Rollon Phillips faced Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday after he was accused of possessing dangerous drugs on July 30, 2021.

The court heard Mr Phillips allegedly had 102g of a variety of steroids.

Mr Phillips told the court his solicitor, who was not present in court, had received a drug analysis certificate late on Friday afternoon.

He asked Magistrate Haydn Stjernqvist for an adjournment so he and his lawyer could discuss the certificate.

Mr Stjernqvist granted the adjournment but said Mr Phillips would need to enter a plea on the next occasion.

After his previous court appearance the Level Up Foundation founder and director told the Daily he would be pleading not guilty to the charge.

Mr Phillips started his foundation in January, 2020 to work alongside homeless and disadvantaged community members to improve the lives of those in need.

He is also well-known for his work as a personal trainer.

Mr Phillips will next face court on February 28.
