A 21-year-old labourer sold off his prized Holden ute after he was busted evading Sunshine Coast police knowing he’d be off the road for years.

A Maryborough labourer sold his prized Holden ute after he was busted evading Sunshine Coast police on a suspended licence.
Sporting a sharp mullet with formal attire, Bradley David Foy pleaded guilty in Caloundra Magistrates Court to evasion and driving without a licence.
Police prosecutor Stephen Potter said police were conducting patrols in Peachester on June 11 when they saw the 21-year-old drive past them at 3.39pm.
Checks revealed he was driving without a licence which prompted officers to activate their lights.
The court heard Foy’s white ute was seen speeding out of sight up to the Peachester Range.
Police eventually abandoned their intercept as it was clear Foy was evading them.
Sergeant Potter said he had ample time to pull over, with the 21-year-old labourer eventually being identified from his car and dashcam footage.
Defence solicitor Andy Bazzi said the former Emerald resident was driving back from a worksite in Woodford where he worked as a labourer.
Mr Bazzi said Foy’s anxiety contributed to his poor decision making on the day.
Magistrate Katherine Benson said Foy had shown remorse particularly by selling his prized ute knowing he wouldn't be able to drive.
Foy pleaded guilty to both charges and was disqualified from driving for two and a half years and fined $6892.50.
No convictions were recorded.
