A 41-year-old man will face court after a man was allegedly stabbed in the head near a main street hotel at a Sunshine Coast suburb.
The alleged incident occurred on Currie Street in Nambour about 2.33pm on Tuesday, June 24.
A person suffered multiple wounds in the stabbing and they were taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the man suffered wounds to the head.
The area was taped off by police and the Commercial Hotel Nambour appears to have closed.
Multiple police crews could be seen scouring Short St behind the hotel whilst bystanders rushed to see the commotion.
Police will allege a 41-year-old Nambour man was involved in an altercation and then ran from the scene.
Police located the man in Petrie Park and took him into custody without incident around 3.43pm.
The 41-year-old Nambour man was charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public space.
He is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Wednesday, June 25.
Police said a 33-year-old Charleville man was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The men are believed to be known to each other.
