A Caloundra West man has been fined after he hit a police car with his bicycle before grabbing his groin and pulling it towards officers while just a short distance away from a school.

Malcolm Patrick Vaughan had come into the sight of police after he rode his bike past their vehicle at the Baringa Shopping Centre on October 25 and hit the side driver’s mirror and continued towards the gym.

Caloundra Magistrates Court heard the 46-year-old then got off his bike, faced police and pointed at them before grabbing his crotch and pulling it in an upwards motion.

Police prosecutor David Hoffman said at the time Vaughan was standing across the road from Baringa State Primary School and in view of members of the public, including children.

Senior Constable Hoffman told the court the Caloundra West man had previous nuisance offences in public in his criminal history.

The heavily tattooed Vaughan represented himself in court and told Magistrate Catherine Benson he had nothing to say in response to the allegations.

He pleaded guilty to public nuisance and was fined $750, with a conviction recorded.
