A North Brisbane woman has been jailed after she violently attacked several people including kicking a stabbing victim at a frenzied gang bashing on the Sunshine Coast.

A North Brisbane woman has been jailed after she kicked a man who had been stabbed during a gang bashing at a Sunshine Coast party.

Nykisha Anne Schefe joined a gang brawl at a house party when she was 18-years-old in Buderim on June 9 2020 after her partner attacked another person.

Maroochydore District Court heard during the madness the now 21-year-old Keperra woman rained down blows on a woman, causing a gash above her eye.

Crown prosecutor Samantha O’Rourke said the woman’s daughter came to her mum’s aid but Schefe then punched her in the jaw.

Ms O’Rourke said while this was erupting Schefe’s co-accused stabbed another man.

The court was told as the stabbing victim lay on the ground unable to move, the co-accused, Schefe and another kicked him in the head.

Schefe was later arrested by police after she fled the property on a stolen bicycle.

Ms O’Rourke told the court the brawl was sparked from a comment about some of the party goers “sniffing glue” and labelled the kicking assault as “particularly cowardly”.

The court heard Schefe’s co-accused had been sentenced in 2021 to five years’ jail for the stabbing.

Mr Dixon said Schefe had performed well with her rehabilitation and was completing a traineeship in the hopes of being a park ranger.

He told the court the 21-year-old had been in an “incredibly destructive” relationship at the time which was now over.

Schefe pleaded guilty to affray, common assault, assault while in company and stealing and was handed 18 months’ jail.

She was granted immediate parole with convictions recorded.
