Residents who heard a fatal motorcycle crash outside their homes on the Sunshine Coast have relived the horror incident, which is the second fatality for the region in just days.

Residents of a Little Mountain street have recounted a horror fatal crash when a motorcyclist crashed into a parked car late on June 28.

Police said the Diamond Valley man, 35, suffered critical injuries and died after he struck a white Toyota Camry parked on Sunset Drive, near the intersection of Allamanda Ave just before midnight.

A nearby resident provided immediate first aid to the rider ahead of emergency services arriving.

At the scene of the incident on June 29, the white Camry was seen being loaded onto a tow truck with a damaged right headlight and number plate.

“Then I heard a light bang, it was about the same as if a car ran into the rubbish bins, so it wasn’t a really loud crash,” he said.

Mr Settree said he heard another motorbike, different to the first one, slow down then take off away from the scene.

Police said early investigations indicated a second motorcycle may have been heard in the vicinity during the crash, but have since clarified there is no suggestion a second motorcycle nor rider was involved or in the vicinity at the time of the crash.

Another long-time resident, who asked not to be named, said he heard a bang and came rushing outside to find the critically injured driver.

He was not the resident to provide first aid, but did call emergency services.

The resident said this was not the first time a crash had occurred near his home, recalling three separate incidents within the past year in which cars had collided with trees and a power pole.

But this was the first time anyone had died, he said.

Police said initial information indicated a black Suzuki DRZ motorbike was travelling north along Sunset Dr when it struck the parked car.

The Forensic Crash Unit will investigate the circumstances and would like witnesses, especially those with dashcam of the rider in the area at the time, to come forward.

This is the second crash on the Sunshine Coast in a week involving a parked car.

A 71-year-old cyclist was rushed to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition after he hit a parked car on June 27.

The Meridan Plains man also crashed in Little Mountain, on Creekwood Av and Parklands Blvd, less than two kilometres from this latest crash.

It is also the second road fatality on the Sunshine Coast in less than a week.

Talented 16-year-old rugby league player Benjamin Hunter died on June 25 after he was struck by a car on Image Flat Rd near Nambour.
