A Sunshine Coast teenage landscaper, who spat in a security guard’s face and attacked a cop at the Caloundra Music Festival, has told a court he doesn’t usually drink.
Kobi-Dan O’Connor-Green had been drinking for 10 hours on September 30 for the top tier music event before his run in with Kings Beach Tavern security about 11.30pm.

Police prosecutor Amanda Brewer told the court O’Connor-Green thrashed around to break free from the grip of security staff before he spat in a guard’s face.
Sergeant Brewer said police swiftly arrived to take O’Connor-Green away but during the arrest, the landscaper kicked an officer in the back of the leg and resisted arrest.
Duty lawyer Neil Tobin said the teen wasn’t a big drinker and had been on the turps for 10 hours at the Caloundra Music Festival leading up to the incident.
O’Connor-Green pleaded guilty to assaulting police, public nuisance, obstructing police and failing to leave a licensed premises and was sentenced to 80 hours’ community service.
He was then placed on a good behaviour bond for eight months.
