Indigo Sloan-Goodall arrested days after Noah Pehi released on parole

A court has heard that a modern day romance has been interrupted by police after a teenager, fresh out on parole, spent only days with his partner before she was arrested on her own criminal charges on the Sunshine Coast.

Two lovers have been separated by the law after one was taken into custody shortly after her partner was released on parole.

Police say Noah Tipene Zion Pehi, 19, and Indigo Sloan-Goodall, 26, were only together for a matter of days when officers came knocking at their home in late June in search of the Nambour woman.

Their modern tale of romance was interrupted when officers were looking for Sloan-Goodall in relation to an alleged burglary and fraud incident at Golden Beach several days before Pehi was released on parole.

Police do not allege Pehi was involved in the incidents above.

Bail objections documents before Maroochydore Magistrates Court this week reveal Sloan-Goodall borrowed a friend’s 2009 Mercedes Benz when her and another woman attended a Golden Beach home about 6am on June 22.

Police allege the 26-year-old acted as the “lookout” for her female companion who they say entered a 76-year-old man’s home through an unlocked door and fled with his phone and wallet.

Court documents state Sloan-Goodall allegedly used the man’s cards fraudulently at Ampol Baringa before she used it again to buy almost $100 worth of food at McDonald’s Baringa.

Police sources say Sloan-Goodall was tracked to a Nambour unit where she was staying with Pehi on June 29. She was arrested and charged with nine offences including four of fraud, two of entering a premises with intent and one of enter dwelling and commit. No pleas have been entered.

Bail objection documents confirm the 26-year-old was living in the hinterland suburb with her 19-year-old partner who is currently on parole.

“[Pehi] was not happy she got picked up,” a police source said.

Sloan-Goodall applied for bail in court on Monday where duty lawyer Michael Robinson said she was trying to “stay out of trouble” besides the “unfortunate exception” from June 22.

Acting magistrate Anna Smith however refused bail and adjourned the Nambour woman’s matter to September 3 for sentence.
