A Glass House Mountains man cemented in the “drug world” has found himself back behind bars after a raid on his home uncovered offers to supply meth and liquid fantasy.

Geoffrey James Tennant was no stranger to drug dealing after his six year jail sentence in the Brisbane Supreme Court in 2020 for trafficking meth.

Maroochydore District Court heard on Monday how the 36-year-old fell back into the narcotics game once again when police executed a search warrant on his Glass House Mountains home in May last year.

Legal officer Liam Dennis said during the raid Tennant gave police the pass code to his phone where two offers to supply drugs were discovered.

Mr Dennis said detectives found the earth moving worker offered to supply an ounce of meth for $5500 and an amount of GHB or liquid ecstasy for $3000 to a man named “Luke”.

The court heard Tennant spoke to the man where he spoke of the consistency and quality of the meth he said he could sell.

“Looks hectic, he gave me a decent sample to have a go at later,” Tennant said in a message about the drug deal.

Mr Dennis said it was accepted the messages were only offers to supply drugs, with no evidence Tennant followed through on his discrete drug suggestions.

Further searches of his home uncovered small amounts of meth, cocaine, 217 Suboxone films containing buprenorphine and two glass containers filled with 32.98g of GBL, a chemical closely associated with GHB.

A Samsung phone, glass pipe and scales were also found at the property.

The court heard Tennant spent about 15 months on remand serving another jail term up until his sentence on Monday after he pleaded guilty to multiple charges including four counts of possessing dangerous drugs and two counts of supplying drugs.

Defence barrister Angus Edwards said the supplies never eventuated, with the drugs found being for his personal use as it was known the 36-year-old battled with a drug addiction.

Mr Edwards said the Glass House Mountains man, who had a background in construction and earth moving, had been cemented “in the drug world” due to this substance use problem which led to his offending.

The court heard Tennant was however in a good relationship for two years and hoped to begin work once again after his release.

Judge Glen Cash jailed Tennant for 18 months’ and set a parole eligibility date for Monday.

This will run at the same time as his previous six year sentence for drug trafficking.
