Dylan Jay Cummins allegedly caught doing 200km/h on motorway faces Maroochydore Magistrates Court

A motorcyclist who was allegedly caught riding at 200km/h on the Sunshine Motorway has faced court.

A motorcyclist who was allegedly caught doing wheelies at speeds above 200km/h along the Sunshine Motorway has faced court.

Dylan Jay Cummins was stopped by officers from the Sunshine Coast road policing unit on March 23 after he was allegedly seen travelling at high speeds in wet conditions.

The Maroochydore Magistrates Court heard that police searched Mr Cummins' Pacific Paradise home the next day, finding the motorbike and a hydroponic set-up with mature marijuana plants.

Acting Inspector Shane Panoho said in March that Mr Cummins received a fine of $17,000 and lost 93 demerit points.

His traffic infringements included:

- 17 for speeding; three of which were for exceeding the speed limit by more than 40km/h

- 10 for failing to have proper control

- 2 for unlawful lane filtering

- 1 for crossing a single line

- 1 for failing to stop at red light

- 1 for stopping on a footpath

- 1 for disobeying a direction arrow on the roadway

The fines totalled $17,512.

Mr Cummins faced court on Monday on several charges including 10 counts of dangerous operation and one count each of producing and possessing dangerous drugs.

Appearing as town agent, defence lawyer Belinda Robinson requested the matter to be adjourned.

Mr Cummins, who was on watch house bail, signed a new undertaking with a condition that he not ride motorcycles.

Magistrate Rodney Madsen adjourned the matter to May 24.
