David Martti Leif Denholm charged with multiple counts of fraud, forgery

Sunshine Coast detectives have arrested a man on fraud charges with police alleging he stole cash and car accessories from a North Brisbane auto parts business.

A Mango Hill man has faced court after being arrested on 23 fraud-related charges where it’s alleged he stole money, accessories and a fridge from a North Brisbane auto parts store he worked at.

David Martti Leif Denholm, 37, faces charges of nine counts of fraud – dishonestly obtain property from another by an employee, seven of forgery, six of stealing by clerks and one of fraud – dishonestly causing detriment.

Caloundra Criminal Investigation Branch detectives charged Mr Denholm on May 24, 2022 following an investigation.

Court documents allege in varying periods from 2021 to 2022, Mr Denholm allegedly obtained vehicle parts, accessories and sums of money from ARB North Lakes while he was an employee.

Detectives alleged in court documents the Mango Hill man also stole a fridge in mid-2021 which belonged to ARB North Lakes.

Multiple counts of forgery were laid on Mr Denholm as well, where police allege he forged bank related documents and remittance advice.

Mr Denholm appeared briefly in Caloundra Magistrates Court on Wednesday June 13, 2022 and asked for an adjournment to Pine Rivers Magistrates Court.

His matter was adjourned to August 31, 2022 with Mr Denholm leaving the court on bail.
