A Sunshine Coast woman who died in a horror crash north of Gympie just days before Christmas has been identified as Cassandra Reilly.
The 41-year-old mother was killed after her car collided head-on with another driven by a 23-year-old Greenbank man on the Bruce Hwy at Kanigan just after 8.15pm on Thursday, December 21.
She died at the scene while the Greenbank man was taken to Gympie Hospital with serious injuries.
Ms Reilly lived in the small hinterland village of Reeseville, near Maleny and it is understood she had family in Maryborough.
She had been working at popular Caloundra cafe the Pastry Lab.
In a statement, the Pastry Lab said their colleague was more like family and their hearts were “extremely heavy without her here”.
“Your work family becomes your instant family and we are all still in shock that our beautiful Cass is gone,” the statement read.
“We just miss her so much.”
Tributes for Ms Reilly continued to flow online, with heartfelt comments about how missed she was.
“You are the best ... We will miss you and the laughs,” Leah Cardona said.
Judy Lister said she was sending her love to the Pastry Lab and that Ms Reilly was “such a beautiful lady”.
Jessica Cullen said she was at a loss over Ms Reilly’s death.
“I loved our chats and looked forward to seeing you. (Rest in peace) beautiful lady,” she said.
The Wide Bay Forensic Crash Unit is still investigating.
As of Thursday, no charges had been laid.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
