A Sunshine Coast woman facing more than 60 charges, including drug dealing and trafficking, allegedly hid a stash of cash and drugs in her bra after being pulled over by police.
Court documents stated that Ann-Karyn Jillett, 47, was allegedly found with $250, a small bag of meth and 10 suboxone strips stuffed in her bra after the car she was travelling in was pulled over by police for a licence check on November 3 last year.
The documents stated Ms Jillett, who was on bail at the time for serious offences including drug trafficking, was in the passenger seat and appeared extremely nervous and was fidgeting with her hands.
She allegedly appeared like she was concealing items.
The documents alleged that both Ms Jillett and the driver were detained by police for a search, but Ms Jillett allegedly got out of the car and began to walk away saying “nope, I’m not doing this”.
The documents stated she was forcibly handcuffed before being searched.
The documents stated police then allegedly found the stash of drugs and money hidden in Ms Jillett’s bra.
She allegedly told police the suboxone was not hers, but for a “friend” who needed it and could not walk.
Police also allegedly found a bag of marijuana in a handbag inside the car, which Ms Jillett allegedly described as “bush weed” and said belonged to her.
It was alleged other small bags containing meth were also found inside the car, along with plastic straws, electronic scales and empty clip seal bags.
The documents alleged police asked Ms Jillett to hand over her phone and provide a passcode, but she refused.
The phone allegedly received several calls from unsaved numbers every few minutes shortly after being switched on.
Ms Jillett was arrested and charged and has been in custody ever since.
She faces 65 charges including 37 of supplying drugs, nine of possessing dangerous drugs, five of possessing property suspected of being used for a drug offence, three of possessing a thing used in the commission of a crime, two of possessing drug utensils and two of possessing property suspected of being used in connection with the commission of a drug offence.
She is also charged with drug trafficking, possessing tainted property, stealing, obstructing police, breaching bail, possessing property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under the drugs misuse act and receiving tainted property.
The alleged offences span between September 11, 2021 and November 3, 2023.
She has not entered pleas to any of the charges.
In court documents, Ms Jillett was alleged to have dealt marijuana and meth 35 times between August 20, 2022, and October 30 last year, as well as buprenorphine on November 3 last year at Moffatt Beach and date rape drug GHB on October 12 last year.
She was alleged to have trafficked meth and marijuana on the Sunshine Coast between August 23 and November 3 last year.
