When feeding, these fish are very aggressive and will smack a surface lure, plastic or even a metal slug.
The first of the run in tide has seen a few bait balls getting harassed and this is the time to make a cast into the feeding fish.
They also are being caught on whole pilchard on a set of gang hooks.
Also feeding during this time are the trevally and queenfish and again, if you see surface action, work these areas.
Bream continue to dominate catches with the cool conditions, and any area with a bit of structure is holding fish, lightly weighted strip baits, prawns and yabbies all accounting for some quality fish.
Don't be afraid to use a bit of berley as well, this will get them schooled up and feeding well.
The deeper holes in Noosa, Mooloolah and Maroochy around the tide change are producing a few small to medium-sized jewfish on small soft plastics.
They are feeding best when the run in the tide slackens off.
A few fished offshore earlier in the week for some big amberjack and cobia using live yakkas along with knife jigs.
A reminder to offshore anglers that the Snapper and Pearl Perch closure is still in force.
