Superior economic management claims fail to add up

A feature of LNP supporters' letters is the unquestioning and unsupported assertion that the LNP manages the economy fabulously.

A FEATURE of LNP supporters' letters is the unquestioning and unsupported assertion that the LNP manages the economy fabulously.

This is despite every night's news carrying economics commentary about the "weak”, "sluggish” economy, predictions of the Reserve Bank of Australia needing to cut rates, concerns about low wages growth, concerns about low consumer confidence, growth levels hovering just above recession and so on.

Between 2007-13, Australia under Labor was ranked first four times in world economic rankings between 2007 and 2013 and no lower than fourth.

Under the LNP every year the rankings have slid from ninth to 13th to 18th to 21st.

So, Ted, is this how LNP "superior” economic management works?

Any predictions about the looming GDP figures, Ted?
