By now most of us have missed special soirees or occasions for loved ones we haven’t seen for some days.

But rather than sit sadly in your PJs, grab your sparkling glass and party at your place!

Say for example the do is a hens, the night of all nights for an incredibly good friend, the borders may be closed but your wardrobe isn’t, so you better get in there and start looking busy.

Look back on the dress code for the evening’s events. Is it classy, casual, or somewhere in between? Cocktail, of course, can mean so many things.

But don’t get bogged down deciphering the codes, use it as a starting point and see where it goes.

Visualise your location: is it beach, bar, or boat? Is it Brisbane or Byron or somewhere remote?

This will flavour your mood for the night, and help you choose shoes, so your look is just right.

Consult your favourite fashion mag if you are feeling uninspired, you are guaranteed to find some ideas to adapt to your style.

Try on all your party looks, one outfit will not do, wear them all or all at once, how you party is up to you.

Always remember to check the theme, this will decide the music to play. Now we are getting in the mood, the celebration is underway!

Re-live all the party songs and dance around the room, sprinkle a bit of glitter about and get into your groove.

(Just remember who is cleaning up the next day, glitter can be a bit tricky … maybe skip the glitter and go with something friendlier for your sore head post-party).

Lips must be bold and lashes a flashing, pull out your best moves and party with passion!
