Noosa cashing in while the rest of Coast foots the bill

THANKYOU Dom Massoni for your informative letter (Daily, April 23) declaring that Sunshine Coast Council has dealt fairly with the Noosa Council and ratepayers during a three-year consultation period.

It demonstrated the continual duplicity of the Noosa Council, happy to reap benefits for their area at zilch cost. However, at the last minute, they want to dictate flight paths knowing the project has already been financed and approved.

Our council, in an effort to spare ratepayers such a financial burden, leased the airport for 99 years. To repay the debt owed this has turned an asset to a liability until the debt is paid for our region.

Dom, you have shown our mayor and our council did all that was required to gain bipartisan assistance and input over a three-year period. They are not "arrogant and faceless” as some would have us believe.
