Life after lockdown is finally here

After months of living the couch potato life, the day has finally came for me to get back in the gym for a gruelling pilates workout.

This definitely won’t be what I look like going back to pilates classes.

AFTER months of living the couch potato life, the day has finally came for me to get back in the gym for a gruelling pilates workout.

When stage two of the State Government’s COVID Safe plan was brought forward, I was both over the moon and a little scared to head back to the pilates studio.

The team at Inflow Pilates and Wellness in Caloundra have done an amazing job at getting us working out through online classes, but there’s something so easy about backing out of a workout when there’s no one to see.

WEIGHT LIFTED: COAST GYMS READY TO REOPEN EARLY

Today the studio reopened with a bang, with clients rushing to the reformer machines to get back into hundreds or mid back series.

I’ve been keen to get my much-too comfortable butt into gear since the studio was forced to close in March, but I’m also terrified to realise how much I’ve fallen behind.

For someone who’s never been particularly athletically gifted, I’m overly competitive and will always look to the person next to me to make sure I’m at the same level or better.

But as I write this in the lead up to my first class in months, I’m fairly certain I’ll be one of the worst in the class.

Life finally seems to be getting back to normal, and even if it means getting my butt kicked in pilates, it’s such a relief to have that routine back.
