Hanson a target for society's most sanctimonious elements

Since the LNP feels threatened by Pauline Hanson's appeal to conservative voters, she is portrayed as Public Enemy No. 1

IF Scott Morrison had the courage and conviction to stand as strongly and unambiguously in support of the best interests of Australia, as he did in 'bravely' condemning Pauline Hanson to the bottom of his ballot, he would be seen as a strong leader worthy of respect.

However, since the LNP feels threatened by Pauline Hanson's appeal to conservative voters who are disenchanted with weak leadership and 'labour-lite' leanings, she is portrayed as Public Enemy No. 1 which justifies her being treated as 'fair game'.

Her supporters are insulted as being either 'racist extreme right wing supremacists' or gullible fools incapable of thinking for themselves so are unable to see they are being manipulated by an evil woman 'playing victim'.

Ironically, it is hypocritical that society claims to condemn bullying yet for those wanting to appear relevant, it is desirable to join with mob strength and legitimately bully an 'agreed on' target such as Pauline Hanson - metaphorically pelting rocks and rotten fruit at her locked in stocks in the town square - and then mock her as 'playing the victim'.

How would those who mock her stand up to being the target for public humiliation and condemnation in 'trial by media'? I was appalled by David Koch and Derryn Hinch, two cowards bullying Pauline on Sunrise, but not a word of censure for their despicable, gutless behaviour.

Why is only Pauline being demonised for misdemeanours of party members?

Other party leaders are not vilified for the actions of their members. I don't recall the PM being blamed for Barnaby Joyce's scandal.

Or Richard di Natalie blamed for questionable behaviour of Greens party members.

Why isn't Tracy Grimshaw grilling Scott Morrison and Bill Shorten on Current Affair and holding them to account for the undesirable behaviour of their candidates who have withdrawn from the coming election? This barely rates a mention in the media.

Sadly, it would appear that sanctimonious elements in society need a target for their discontent and others simply enjoy 'blood sport' so the media meets these market needs by serving up Pauline Hanson.
