IT IS interesting to see the Federal Government offering a one-off payment on our electricity bills which is obviously a pre-election carrot.
However, I would be more influenced by a genuine long-term reduction in electricity prices that would have a bigger impact.
This one-off payment suggests that the government is unable to reduce electricity prices as promised and as well would allow electricity retailers to continue to charge the higher rates that continue to rise.
