Major milestone for commercial property manager

CBRE Sunshine Coast's Kate Pascoe has won the prestigious Commercial Property Manager of the Year title at the 2018 REIQ Awards for Excellence.

Returning to CBRE as an associate director in February 2017 after four years at another agency, Ms Pascoe has excelled in her role.

Starting her property career straight out of school in 2001 as a receptionist for a small Melbourne commercial agency, within 16 years she has reached a major milestone in leading CBRE's Sunshine Coast Asset Services business line.

In this position Ms Pascoe has assumed direct management responsibility for a portfolio of eight commercial buildings while also looking after three direct reports.

CBRE managing director Rem Rafter said this gave her oversight to a combined property portfolio of 28 mixed-use buildings.

"Since Kate's return just over 12 months ago, our wider team has moved ahead in leaps and bounds, with much of it being a credit to her ability to drive operational excellence and enhance collaboration across our business lines,'' Mr Rafter said.

"In the past year alone, Kate has worked hard to develop her own property management skills and leadership capabilities, and as a result we have seen her confidence grow exponentially.

"She is an asset to the business, and her award win is a testament to her consistent demonstration of professionalism, enthusiasm and incredible leadership, as well as a commitment to delivering outstanding client service.''

The REIQ award recognises Ms Pascoe's outstanding achievement as a real estate practitioner. It acknowledges her point of difference - something she prides herself on - which is communication and knowing which communication form works best for each individual client.

Another point of difference is offering the highest level of service not only to landlord clients, but also tenants and contractors in order to maintain strong relationships and exceed the requirements of the landlord.

The award also recognised Ms Pascoe's role as a manager. She is focused on a positive working environment through her open-door policy to all staff, with the goal of ensuring employees feel supported and can go above and beyond.

To further support her team of working mothers, she champions a flexible workplace culture.

Ms Pascoe's win is an exciting achievement for the wider CBRE business, with the award marking the second consecutive year, and the fifth time in seven years, the firm has won Commercial Property Manager at the REIQ Awards for Excellence.
