Strong auction campaign pays dividends for Sunshine Coast ocean-side property auction

AN EARLIER real estate transaction and the benefit of time in which to form a trusting business relationship with their agent of choice proved favourable for the sellers of 426 Oceanic Drive South, Wurtulla.

Adam Budd of Ray White Kawana, previously sold the 580sqm level allotment about five years ago.

Since then, a carefully considered design, highly sought-after location and construction of the Oceanside Health Hub all contributed in the delivery of a promotional plan.

"It was an interesting auction campaign in which the aim was the seller's dream price,” Adam said.

"They understood the auction process, had trust in it and in me as their agent. Everything we asked of them, they did.”

Over the course of the campaign, 59 groups inspected and prior offers were made.

Auction day on Saturday attracted a crowd of close to 60 people. Registered buyers numbered five; three locals and two from interstate who did their bidding by phone, one from Sydney and the other in Western Australia.

Auctioneer David Holmes stood front and centre in the driveway with onlookers spilling out to the footpath.

An opening offer of $700,000 was just the start. With the bid at $825,000, fresh interest joined the foray with a $5,000 increase.

Nudging north, buyer interest waned but the bids kept coming. At $850,000, instructions were sought with the sellers and negotiations began.

The buyers had submitted an earlier offer after first inspecting the three-bed, two-bath residence at the second open home.

Following the auctioneer's announcement of an increased bid to $875,000, the property was announced on the market and sold to professionals who recently relocated in their work to the new health facility nearby.
