Friends to celebrate ‘life of the party’ Taylor Shaw after fatal car crash
The “life of the party” who always lit up rooms will be remembered at an emotional funeral service after his tragic death at just 25.
A young Sunshine Coast man who died in a tragic crash north of Brisbane will be remembered by friends and family at a touching funeral service.
Taylor Benton-Shaw, or Taylor Shaw, died on November 26 after his Range Rover crashed into a tree along the D’Aguilar Highway in Wamuran early that morning.
The 25-year-old Bli Bli man was rushed Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition but succumbed to his injuries in the afternoon.
On Facebook, Josh Trappett shared details of the funeral planned to farewell Mr Benton-Shaw.
The funeral notice reads “in loving memory of Taylor Shaw”, with an invitation for loved ones to celebrate his life and “pay their final respects.”
The viewing service will be held at George Hartnett Metropolitan Funerals in Redcliffe on December 18 from 10am.
A Celebration of Life will then be held from 12pm at the North Leagues Club at North Lakes.
Mr Trappett wrote in his post the funeral would one of the hardest days of his life.
Jodie Sieverts commented Mr Benton-Shaw’s life must be celebrated.
“You guys know Tay - always the life of the party. The memorable one,” she said.
“So we need to keep that spirit alive for him and celebrate the incredible soul that he was.”
Last month, Mr Trappett paid tribute in a post, which read “RIP my brother, fly high”.
“Words can't explain how I feel right now,” he wrote.
“I can’t believe you’re gone. I love you my bro, I’m going to miss you so much.
“I still can't believe this has happened.”
In the comments, Alicia Jenelle described Mr Benton-Shaw as the “nicest guy”.
“Life won’t be same without you my brother ,” Kaleb Stewart added.
“I love you such (sic) bro and don’t know what to do without you.”
Reece Nagel took to social media to pay tribute, describing Mr Benton-Shaw as “full of life” and the happiest person he had ever met.
“You always looked out for your friends because that’s the person you were. Full of love,” Mr Nagel wrote.
“I love you my brother and always will. May your soul go to heaven and rest.”
Rachel Cook said Mr Benton-Shaw “always lit up the room” in the comments of the post.
Callum Tapp posted his own message.
“Although this world ain’t perfect, it sure was better with you in it mate,” he said.
“RIP my boy.”
