Eight cars involved in horror crash along the Bruce Hwy at Forest Glen

Emergency crews rushed to a horror peak hour crash involving up to eight vehicles on the Bruce Hwy with traffic affected.

Multiple cars have crashed on the Bruce Hwy causing traffic chaos on the Sunshine Coast.

Paramedics rushed to the multi-vehicle crash at Forest Glen at 3.23pm on Monday involving up to eight vehicles spread across 500m on the Bruce Hwy southbound, 2km south of the Chevallum BP service station.

Nine people were involved overall however, only one woman was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with neck pain.

All other occupants were stable with minor injuries or uninjured and all declined further treatment or transport to hospital.

Five cars were totalled and had to be towed.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said the vehicles were close to the shoulder of the road but were still a hazard and would impact traffic, with motorists urged to find alternate routes to their destinations.
