A well-known Noosa developer has revealed luxury plans for a beachfront site at Peregian Beach as they seek council approval to demolish three existing units blocks.

An application to demolish the three two-storey buildings that are placed across three separate blocks at Peregian Beach was submitted to the Noosa Council on May 3, 2024.

The addresses listed in the demolition application lodged by the company, Davrus Pty Ltd include, 66 Peregian Esplanade, 1 Martin St and 23 Avocet Parade.

The company snapped up the three properties, which include a mix of two and three-bedroom units, in March 2022 for a total of approximately $8.25m, according to property data.

Davrus, which is operated by local Noosa builder Damien Davidson, is the developer behind a number of well-known Noosa luxury projects, including the 22-apartment residential project, Malolo.

Development manager at Davrus, Sam Lane said the existing 15 units, spread across the three individual blocks, are set to be replaced by eight high-end apartments, if approvals for the demolition and subsequent development are granted.

“We aim to transition the existing layout into four unit blocks, with one unit on each level—essentially, one unit at the bottom and one at the top. These will be exquisite high-end luxury units tailored to meet the demands of the discerning luxury market,” Mr Lane said.

Mr Lane said the development, which is still in the planning pipeline, would remain at two-storeys and attempt to blend into the natural coastal landscape as much as possible.

“We are looking to make the design pleasing to the eye, and not a stark contrast to the surrounding landscapes, that is our main goal and that is the design brief to our designers as well,” Mr Lane said.

“We want it to integrate and not stick out like it is just a brand-new development on a beautiful old street in Peregian.”

Davrus is yet to submit plans for the eight-apartment development to the Noosa Council.
