Capital Beauty crowned Sunshine Coast’s best brow specialist by readers

A dedicated beauty educator is “over the moon” to be named best brow specialist on the Sunshine Coast by our readers and vows to expand her business and educational hub.

A dedicated enthusiast and educator of all things beauty has taken the title of best brow specialist on the Sunshine Coast four years after she opened her business amid a pandemic.

Capital Beauty owner Taylah Alexander, 25, has been voted the best brow specialist by readers leading with 24 per cent, narrowly triumphing over The Hair and Makeup Artist by a single vote.

Capital Beauty offers everything from brows and lashes to tooth whitening, tooth gems, waxing and extensions and training workshops, servicing more than 4000 clients per year.

Ms Alexander opened Capital Beauty as a home studio in 2020, gathering a following who were loyal throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

From the age of six, Ms Alexander was “infatuated” with all things in the world of beauty, she said.

“I would stay up at night looking at Natio catalogues, dreaming of a life in the beauty industry,” she said.

From the age of 14, she went on to obtain various qualifications including a Diploma in Beauty Therapy, and began working in several salons.

After launching her home studio, she quickly outgrew the space and moved to a rented room in a cosmetic clinic only to once again require a new space, leading to her current salon in Buderim.

She became an international lash master educator in 2022 and turned to teaching, most recently offering in-person and online lash and brow courses with hopes of producing highly-skilled artists to impact the industry.

“Here my passions really became apparent as I saw many students coming in with that same fire I had at such a young age,” Ms Alexander said.

She named her salon a “hub for beauty education” ideal for beginners or those looking to improve their skills.

Ms Alexander said she loved to see the transformation in appearance and self-esteem of her clients and cherishes her relationships with her customers.

She is passionate about paying attention to detail, tailoring treatments and staying on top of trends to help her clients feel confident and beautiful.

The salon owner said her main goal was to expand her business and become a “premier destination” by enhancing her services and expanding her team.

Ms Alexander’s ultimate vision is to create a renowned educational platform which set a benchmark in lash and brow training services.

Ms Alexander said the win felt fantastic and her team is “over the moon” and grateful for the support.

She said the title is a huge honour and “wonderful validation” of their hard work and passion.

“We have such a close knit clientele that has become like family and to feel their support is something I rank as one of the best feelings in my life,” she said.

Ms Alexander thanked those who voted for her salon and gave their support and recognition.
