1. Nostalgia Town

2. Alexandra Headlands and Currimundi waterslides

If you're a true local you might remember the water slides that were once located at Alexandra Headland.

A water slide was also once at Currimundi.


3. The Superbee honey factory

The lights were off and nobody was home at the Superbee honey factory when it closed in Tanawha on January 27, 2008.

Well, nobody except the Ruthven family of Kilcoy.

Syd, Kylie, five-year-old Kael and eight-year-old Sidney cut a forlorn figure sitting at the picnic table in the deserted car park of the tourist attraction, which was closed after what was believed to be its last operating day on Saturday.

4. Thrill Hill

Located in Woombye, Thrill Hill has all the thrills and spills you can handle. Get your friends together and head to Thrill Hill for 120 metres of dynamic hydro slipslide.

5. The Ginger Factory

Yandina's The Ginger Factory is a great place to visit these holidays with something for green thumbs as well as children looking for adventure.

6. The Big Shell

This tropical lifestyle store in Tewantin doubles as a shell museum.


7. Top Shots Fun Park

Top Shots Fun Park at Maroochydore closed down in 2017 after it was sold for about $2m. 

Now the Allora Dr site is home to a unit complex. 


8. Monster Slide plan for Caloundra abandoned

In August, 2015, Monster Slide New Zealand walked away from its elaborate plans to bring a giant, 220 metre slide to a street in Caloundra.

9. Maroochy River Mini Golf 

With 18 holes, two challenge levels, and a course filled with humps and hollows, water features and sand traps, the Maroochy River Mini Golf has something for everyone to enjoy.
