Stanthorpe police have been kept busy with a bundle of drug related and traffic offences occurring within the past week, as well as a theft and an upcoming crackdown on storage for weapons licence holders to come.
DRUG POSSESSION
An incident occurred at Stanthorpe Plaza on Monday, August 7 involving a 57-year-old Russell Island man who has now been charged with possession of amphetamines.
A 21-year-old Stanthorpe man was charged in relation to the same incident with obstructing police and has since been returned to prison, with both men to appear in Stanthorpe Magistrates Court.
On Saturday, August 12 a 48-year-old Stanthorpe woman was charged with possessing amphetamines, drug utensils and failing to dispose of a used syringe after she was intercepted by police for not wearing a helmet while riding a bicycle and will appear in Stanthorpe Magistrates Court.
DRUG BUSTS
Upon executing a search warrant of a Stanthorpe residence on Wednesday, August 9, a 51-year-old man was charged with possessing drug paraphernalia and will appear in the Stanthorpe Magistrates Court.
THEFTS
Stanthorpe police are appealing for public assistance after two Husqvana chainsaws under repair were stolen from a residence on Butler Rd at Bapaume between midday-1pm on Thursday, August 10.

TRAFFIC OFFENCES
A 19-year-old Beenleigh man was charged on High St with drink driving while on a provisional licence Saturday, August 12 with a blood alcohol reading of 0.046 and will appear in the Stanthorpe Magistrates Court.
A 36-year-old Stanthorpe man was intercepted on Folkestone St on Saturday, August 12 and charged with driving without a licence which had been demerit point suspended and will appear in Stanthorpe Magistrates Court.
A 30-year-old Stanthorpe man was intercepted on Wallangarra Rd on Saturday, August 12 and charged with unlicensed driving also to appear in Stanthorpe Magistrates Court.
WEAPONS CHECKS
Stanthorpe police will be conducting weapons and storage facility inspections around the region in the coming months, with local weapons licence holders to expect a phone call from police.
