Kingaroy and surrounding areas experienced heavy rainfall this week, with some reporting up to 80mm of rain within a two-hour period in the afternoon.
The recent rain over the last two weeks has been a relief for local residents and farmers with grass turning green again and water tanks being filled after a lengthy dry spell.
Kingaroy resident Denise Keelan said she hasn’t seen this much water in Kingaroy for a while.
Nanango resident Natasha Morton was thrilled with the recent rain.
“We got 26.5mm of rain this morning. A month ago our tank was down to 40cm in there, I just checked and now we have 186.5cm in there. We waited six weeks for a water delivery that was meant to be delivered today and mother nature delivered instead,” she said.
Unfortunately the rain didn’t reach all areas of the South Burnett with some reporting little to no rain.
Patricia Stephenson said the rain missed her house in south Nanango.
“Missed our place badly on Hazeldean Road … as always, had rain all around us and we are dry,” she said.
