Police are seeking public assistance after a stolen car was linked to an attempted break-in at a Moffatdale property, with four young suspects still at large.

Police said Wednesday a grey Hyundai IX35, with the Queensland registration CDS444, was stolen from a driveway on MacAlister Street, Murgon, sometime between 8pm on October 8 and 5am on October 9.

The vehicle’s owner still has the keys, and it remains unclear how the offenders managed to steal the car.

Later that evening, at about 11.20pm, four unidentified offenders allegedly arrived at a Haager Drive property in Moffatdale in the stolen Hyundai.

The group attempted to break into a kiosk by trying to force open a glass sliding door but were deterred by an occupant inside the building.

The offenders then fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.

They are described as young, small in stature, and of First Nations appearance.

They were allegedly carrying a large metal pipe during the break-in attempt.

Police are urging anyone who may have information about the stolen vehicles or the identities of the offenders to contact them.
