Police prosecutor Sergeant Barry Stevens told the Murgon Magistrates Court the case will rely heavily on DNA evidence.
“We have got preliminary advice of DNA being located, but we haven’t got a formal statement yet. That is still outstanding,” he said
Sergeant Stevens said the brief of evidence has been supplied to the defence
The 23-year-old was represented by lawyer Mark Werner.
The matter was adjourned till August 30 for a committal mention.
