Beltrame was slapped with an 18-month suspended jail term in October 2021 after pleading guilty to possessing child exploitation material and was made a reportable child sex offender.

In May 2021 he pleaded guilty to three counts of failing to comply with reporting and one each of contravening a police requirement, possessing dangerous drugs, and possessing drug utensils.

The court heard that Beltrame missed his first reportable month, missed the subsequent month and failed to notify police of his change of vehicle.

Crown prosecutor Alex Stark said Beltrame’s reporting requirements were fundamental to the protection of the people and children of the community.

“He could provide no reason for not periodically reporting,” Mr Stark said.had “Unfortunately for the defendant, he comes to the court not only with drug offences but with others to report and comply, (he has) placed himself in danger.”

Beltrame, representing himself, acknowledged the breach and said he had been diagnosed with a memory loss disorder.

“I forgot to vote, pay my bills and I forget a lot of things,” Beltrame health.

Beltrame provided character references from his employer and friends who he had made while living in Nanango.

The court was told he was seeing a psychologist for his mental problems, was no longer aggressive and was developing a new business.

Judge Gary Long said it was clear Beltrame breached his imposed suspended sentence.

He extended Beltrames’ suspended sentence for a further eight months.

Convictions were recorded.
